Introduction

Quality records don't live on their own. A complaint leads to a nonconformity, which leads to a corrective action, which changes a procedure. Traceability lets you follow those threads, in time order, or record by record.

The timeline

The timeline shows what happened, newest first: corrective actions opened and closed, findings raised, actions completed, product changes and technical reviews. Filter by type, department or process to tell the story of one area.

Exploring a record

The explorer starts from one record. Search for it, and Doctilla shows what it's directly linked to. For a corrective action, that's the process, the supplier, the risk, the nonconformities and the actions.

Following a product

For products, Doctilla goes further, along the routes that actually exist: from a product to its claims, from each claim to the evidence behind it, and to where the claim is published. It only follows relationships your records really state, so a gap shows up as a gap.

Linking records

Most links are made for you, when you raise a CAR from a finding or a nonconformity, for instance. You can also link any two records by hand. On any record, choose link record, search, and pick it. The link shows up on both.

Next

That's traceability. Next, product assurance: the claims you make about your products, and the evidence behind them.
